TENACIOUS D IN THE PICK OF DESTINY

Someone has recently posted the first rocking six minutes of the Tenacious D movie The Pick of Destiny. Enjoy it while you can, if the rest of the movie rocks as hard as the intro, we're in for a brain melting gut busting rocket sauce powered cineplexgasm of unrelenting proportions!

Credits

Has anyone noticed that credits for shows are now appearing later and later into the program? With shortened themes and intros, it hasn't been uncommon to see credits even after the first round of commerical breaks. On Heroes this Monday, we spotted credits 14 minutes into the show!

Get A Job

Time for advice! For you!

Monster.com has commericals that say they will give you twice the shot at getting a job! In fact signing up will get you e-mails right away from tons of people! Yet those people are recruiters, and they don't have actual jobs to give you. In fact, one recruiter was trying to recruit me for a recruiting firm. Imagine if that was your job? "Hello, I see you need a job, I needed a job once too, thats why I got a job trying to give other people jobs." Where is the profit there? And if you're a recruiter, why arn't you smart enough to use your resources and find yourself a new job on your first day at work?

Craigslist is both completely bombarded and scam filled. There is about a 100% chance that you will never hear back from any one on that site about a neat sounding job offer. Especially dangerous are advertisements asking for script ideas and treatments. "Send us your treatment and idea, blindly, we are looking for them!" Thats like me going up to a bum and giving him a 30 pack of beers and being like, "Now Don't Drink These, I want you to bring them to this big party around the corner. Once you're into the party, try to get me in too".

So you want to get a job at Viacom or maybe Time Warner right? Wow that sounds terriffic, but where to start? Well I guess their websites would be great, eh? So you take a little scroll to each one, where they let you browse through dozens of daily posted jobs, little dreams in html. Alright, lets get applying, you might say. Yet theres only one problem. These sites don't work. As in they are broken, full of glitches. Not to mention that they just don't work anyways. You will never hear back from them, as 99% of all entries are not even read. There are jobs out there, but sites offer access to ".06% of all employers" and "6% of all vacancies" (Job Hunting on the Internet by Richard Nelson Bolles).

Just because someone works somewhere awesome, doesn't mean that they have the first idea of how to get you a job there. In fact, most higher up people don't know how recruiting works for their businesses, they seem to get there through reputation. The best you can hope to do is eventually meet someone through your good contacts that have better contacts to those in the position to give out jobs.

One Picture, Every Day

Its parodies like this that really make me happy. Olde English hit this on the button, we've seen it a million times and it was due for a spoof.

House Boys Speak Out: Post Humorously

The first post to a news blog sets the tone for whats to come... my associate and I are here with politics raging, game systems launching, and television premiering, and all I want to focus on are introductions...

From me, expect vlogs, cartoons, funny pictures, only the best video links, commentary on movies, a few news breaks and a few adventures from our fast track entertainment insider lives.

I will let House Boy 2 talk shop on his behalf.
